Yokohama Landmark Tower & Cosmo Clock 21

Photo Journal, March 13, 2012

My friends and I, on this day, took a day trip to Yokohama, one of the rare times that all of us had the day off together. I attached my 50 mm lens to my camera body and packed my 18-135 mm lens in my camera bag; the latter ended up being dead weight as I never switched lenses.

I tried mostly to take some close range portrait shots, some cityscapes and of course food pictures; everyone with a smart phone or compact camera in Japan takes photos of their food and drinks, so I no longer feel ’weird’ taking out my camera to do the same. Read more

How Physical

Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions

Visited this festival today, which is being held at the Tokyo Museum of Photography from Feb. 10th to the 26th and is in its fourth incarnation. Weekly Photo Challenge: Hands

While I was browsing through my photos for some hands to use in this weeks photo challenge I began to notice that most of the living people`s hands in my photos are either just out in front of them or at the sides, the people not really knowing what to do with them. Then on the other hand, pun totally intended, the rest of the hand images are displaying a form of sign language that would not be overly appropriate for this weeks challenge, ahem. Luckily for me I have taken a number of photos of statues that feature hands, hope you enjoy my choices for this week. Read more »

I am off to Guam for the next FIVE days and am really looking forward to relaxing and swimming and of course getting one or two photos along the way. Read more »
